The Deep River & District Health Foundation is thrilled to announce that its 22nd Annual Golf Tournament has successfully raised over $26,000 for the Closer To home campaign. The Event, held at the picturesque Deep River Golf Course, was a resounding success thanks to the generous support of key sponsors and participants.

Chris Carroll of Carroll CPA played a pivotal role as the tournament sponsor, while Kevin Hickey of James J. Hickey Realty sponsored the dinner at the end of the day. Their contributions were instrumental in making the tournament a memorable occasion.

Twenty-three teams enjoyed a day of golf on the course under perfect weather conditions - sunny skies, a gentle breeze, and ideal temperatures. Although no hole-in-one was recorded, Tim Hartwig of Cutting-Edge Custom Woodworks took home the prize for "Closest to the Pin" in the men's category, while Lauren McVey achieved the same feat for the ladies.

A special thank you goes to Navi-K9 for sponsoring the beverage cart on Hole 4 and the bar during the evening festivities. Following the round of golf, participants enjoyed a delectable meal prepared by Janelle Hogue and her team at The Turn Restaurant & Bar. The dinner was complemented by an impressive array of door prizes, generously donated by Deep River's Home Hardware and Giant Tiger. The Turn Restaurant & Bar also delighted guests with a sprawling dessert table, made possible by Custom Draperies & Blinds and Furniture King, featuring more than a dozen tempting options.

Bagpiper Jeannie Tilson piped in the meal and piped us all out at the end of the night, adding the perfect touch of Scottish tradition to the evening, while the kilted Doug Tennant was our brilliant master-of-ceremonies.
