All donations to the Deep River & District Hospital Foundation are eligible for a tax receipt.
To help you determine the net cost of your donation and tax credit amounts, simply enter the amount you would like to donate into our Tax Credit Calculator* below and it will automatically calculate it for you.
Please note that the calculator is designed to work under the assumption that the donor is an Ontario resident. It's important to keep in mind that provincial tax rates vary across Canada. Do not rely on this calculator alone to determine your tax credit. Before making any decisions, it's recommended that you discuss your gift intentions with your financial, legal or tax advisor.
When it comes to calculating the tax benefits of charitable donations, individuals can claim up to 75% of their net income each year. Additionally, any unused tax credit can be carried forward for up to five years, which means that you can spread the benefits of your charitable donations over a longer period of time. It's important to keep track of your charitable donations and related tax credits in order to maximize your benefits and make the most of your charitable giving.
*Formula used: 20.05% x donation amount up to $200 + 40.16% x donation amount above $200. Based on Federal Tax Credit: 15% on Donation amount up to $200 then 29% on remainder and Ontario Provincial Tax Credit: 5.05% on Donation up to $200 then 11.16% on remainder.
