23rd Annual Golf Tournament a Success
The 23rd Annual Deep River & District Health Foundation Golf Tournament was a huge hit last Thursday, August 28th, bringing in over $27,500 for the Closer To Home Campaign and putting us at 97% of the way to completing our goal.
We had a full roster of 18 teams (72 golfers) including lots of representation from Deep River & District Health and in spite of the rain, everyone made good use of the photo booth props!

The day included a hole-in-one contest with a possible $10,000 prize, sponsored by Century 21 Aspire, and a "closest to the pin" competition which was won by Rachel McVey and Mathieu Poisson.
This year, a putting contest was held in between the 9th and 10th holes which brought out some fierce competition, but ultimately it was the youngest golfer of the tournament who came out on top. Ms. Kennedi Lance blew the competition away with 165 points and went home with a $100 gift card for The Turn restaurant.
After 18 holes of golf, guests were piped into dinner by Jeannie Tilson and enjoyed an incredible meal put on by Janelle Hogue and the team at The Turn. Several raffle prizes were awarded courtesy of Home Hardware, Giant Tiger, and Valu-Mart, and a huge silent auction kept everyone busy. A heartfelt thank you to Joanne Volmer for all of her help with the auction, and to the many people who donated gifts for the auction.

The foundation would like to extend our deepest gratitude to presenting sponsor Carroll CPA, and to Kevin Hickey of James J. Hickey Realty for sponsoring the meal. You were both integral to the success of this event and we couldn't have done it without you!
