Saturday, March 7th the Deep River & District Health Foundation held our 4th Annual Breakfast & Bonspiel with the support of Deep River & District Health's dietary team and volunteers.
The day began with an incredible pancake breakfast thanks to the amazing Ann Kelly and her team of volunteers. Special thanks to Ashely's Independent Grocer and the Deep River Tim Hortons for generously sponsoring this portion of the day with maple syrup (the good stuff) and coffee for all.

After a hearty breakfast, the bonspiel began at 9AM. 16 teams played two games each, enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by our amazing dietary team at DRDH, and rocked out to local band the Laurentian Hillbillies!
Thank you to Rosehall Consulting, our event sponsor, RadSafe Canada for sponsoring the lunch, and to Maven Catering for sponsoring the entertainment and providing scones to keep our curlers energized.
This year, we began a new tradition and awarded a plaque, "The Rock", to the winning team. Congratulations to Team Berube made up of Richard and Colleen Berube, and Mona and Pat Primeau, for being the first to receive this honor.

Special thanks to Gary Festarini for making and donating the curling rock shaped plaque.
The competition for Closets-to-the Button was fierce this year with Mary-Anne Harris winning for the women, and Adrian Cecco for the men.
AND our lucky 50/50 draw winner was Joanne Hartnett who will receive a prize of $486.00.

Thank you to sponsors Thompson Tile, Canopy Climber Tree Service, and Deep In Dental Hygiene for supporting the ice upkeep throughout the day and of course to the Deep River Curling & Squash Club for all their hard work!
In total, we raised just over $10,000 for the Get On Board: Connecting Community campaign and we are that much closer to being able to purchase our first accessible vehicle for our residents at the Four Seasons Lodge!
