"I was born and raised in Deep River and while I have not lived there for more than 35 years, I still have strong bonds to the community. I remember well when the community moved the hospital from Ridge Road to the current location and how proud everyone was of the new, modern hospital.

“Steve and I moved to Deep River in 1986 and purchased our first home on Sumac Street a few years later, not far from the hospital. In 1989 our first daughter was born at the DRDH which still had a maternity ward at the time. In 1991, our then two year old, reached up and grabbed a travel mug off the kitchen counter (it was plastic and looked a bit like a “sippy cup”). Unfortunately, the mug was full of piping hot coffee...

We believe that the Deep River & District Hospital is the most important institution in our town. Through this experience, I learned that the Ministry of Health does not provide funding needed to replace or buy new equipment essential for the hospital.
