Why I Give: "To Support Our Community"
I am relatively new to Deep River, but I know that I am here to stay. Already this town has provided so much for me –a job, friends, purpose, and peace.

Why I Give: "DRDH The Reason We Are Still Alive"
I am nearing 94 years of age and my wife is nearing 88. We came to Deep River first in 1959 for employment as University summer students.

Why I Give: "Peace of Mind"
The plan to expand the Health Campus to 96 long-term care beds, with over 200 new staff to be hired, is an exciting boost to our community, and one which I will support as much as I can.

Why We Give: "To Ensure The Future Sustainability of Our Wonderful Community"
Deep River has been our family home for 47 years and now home to our daughter and her family. During those years the DRDH provided our family with wonderful health care services from births of 2 of our children, to operations and to the many emergency room visits.

Why We Give: "My Mom Received Excellent Care"
Giving has been engrained in me since I was a kid by my parents. And giving can mean so much to folks.

Why I Give: "Extremely Grateful To The Doctors And Nursing Staff"
My family and I have lived in Deep River for the last 25 years. During that time, we have needed to use the services of the Deep River Hospital for both minor and major issues.

Why I Give: "Example Of The Best a Small Community Hospital Can Be"
“I first began to support the Foundation after my mother, Mary Parkes, died in the Deep River Hospital in November 2012. I have donated every year since then for three reasons:

Why We Give: "Funding For Capital Equipment Must Come From The Community"
As long-time residents who raised our family here, we have come to appreciate that DRDH is a key factor in the high quality of life we enjoy living in Deep River.

Why I Give: "To Build Resilient and Sustainable Community"
"I donate to causes that build resilient and sustainable communities (locally the Deep River Hospital Foundation and the Deep River District Community Foundation).

Tree Of Caring: Nov 2022 Upgrades & New Names
These names below have been added or upgraded on the Tree of Caring in the DRDH lobby. We are grateful for these individuals and corporations for their generous support. Thank you!

Why I Give: "Close By When Loved Ones Need It"
I have been coming to Deep River my entire life, and love the beauty of this small town.

Why I Give: "To Help Others"
“I sent a donation in Clarence Findlay's name. I knew Clarence since the mid 1960's to this year, when he died. His wife Elaine, and I taught together in Matheson, Ontario.

Why I Give: "DRDH Was Important To Me Growing Up"
"I was born and raised in Deep River and while I have not lived there for more than 35 years, I still have strong bonds to the community. I remember well when the community moved the hospital from Ridge Road to the current location and how proud everyone was of the new, modern hospital.

Why I Give: "The Crafty Giar-affe" $1K Donation
"The DRDHF has always been close to my heart. Our youngest son was born there and my elderly father chose to come and live with us in his final year because he loved “our little hospital”.

Why We Give: "My Husband Plays Hockey!"
“Steve and I moved to Deep River in 1986 and purchased our first home on Sumac Street a few years later, not far from the hospital. In 1989 our first daughter was born at the DRDH which still had a maternity ward at the time. In 1991, our then two year old, reached up and grabbed a travel mug off the kitchen counter (it was plastic and looked a bit like a “sippy cup”). Unfortunately, the mug was full of piping hot coffee...

Why We Give: "5 Decades In Deep River"
"After more than five decades in Deep River, we're clear on the vital difference easy access to healthcare makes for all of us here in the Upper Ottawa Valley"

Why We Give: "Grateful For DRDH"
We believe that the Deep River & District Hospital is the most important institution in our town. Through this experience, I learned that the Ministry of Health does not provide funding needed to replace or buy new equipment essential for the hospital.
